Disney, day 1 + 2

Day 1:

Our resort: The Animal Kingdom Lodge….5 stars, beautiful resort and we got a free upgrade to a savanna room where we could see giraffes, zebras and many other animals. A + E thought this was SO cool, it was hard to keep them off the patio.

We hung around the resort the first night and had a yummy dinner at Boma, one of the many dining options at the resort. Boma is a buffet style restaurant that served dishes from over 50 African countries. It was delicious! Unfortunately, Ethan got sick at dinner and cut our time short, we went to bed early in preparation for our first day at the parks.

Day 2: Animal Kingdom. This park is really a lot of fun, there are some cool rides for kids and adults and a great Lion King show that we think is a must for everyone to watch. The boys rode their very first ‘big kid’ coaster this day. Expedition Everest, the boys were just tall enough at 44’ to ride most rides. This coaster is a high speed coaster that goes backwards and stays in the dark for a long time…it scares me, but the boys did great! They asked all week to ride the coaster in the mountains.

We returned to the resort for naps and to freshen up for dinner. We ate at Chef Mickey’s this evening which is located in Disney's Contemporary Resort. This will be a staple for our family when we visit Disney. We love the food, atmosphere and best of all the characters that visit your table as you eat. Big hit with the boys!
